Cottage Food in Connecticut

A Cottage Food Operator (CFO) makes a food product at home with the intent to sell directly to consumers. Products may not be shipped to customers. The transaction must occur in Connecticut.

There are state and federal regulations that limit what an individual can sell. Products must be low-risk for food-related injury or illness and must be prepared in a home kitchen.
