NOTICE:

Connecticut passed new legislation requiring DSS to spread out SNAP benefit issuance dates throughout the month rather than concentrating them in the first few days. Read up on the changes that start March 1.

DSS benefits have changed due to the federal budget reconciliation bill (H.R.1). Find out how it will impact you on our website, which answers questions about work requirements and exemptions for SNAP and HUSKY (Medicaid).

How To

Applying for DSS Services – More Options Than Ever Before

New application gateways offer a full menu of options for accessing DSS services.  For example, the public can apply for HUSKY Health coverage online (24/7), by phone, or in person.

Community Partner Program

ConneCT is our web-based application portal for Medicaid, SNAP and cash benefits. As a community partner, your organization can help our shared clients to complete applications for benefits online.

Through the Community Partner Program, your organization can help Connecticut residents apply for benefits at access points in their community. Current community partners include residential care homes, nursing homes, town social service agencies, and advocacy groups. If interested, please send an email to DSS.PartnerSignUp@ct.gov.

When organizations request to become a community partner, DSS will consider the following elements during the review process:

  • Location: organization is based and operates in Connecticut
  • Mission: have a client-oriented mission consistent with that of DSS
  • Reputation: demonstrate a presence and good standing the community
  • Purpose: for-profit organizations are considered on a case-by-case basis
